Hi! It is so nice to meet you (virtually that is)! My name is Erin Shields and I am the owner and founder of Gilded Swan Boutique. I am a fashion loving, pink/rhinestone and glitter obsessed, girly-girl...and mom of 4 :). I have 3 beautiful boys and was blessed with our little princess in 2021. I am also the wife of a wonderful, loving and supporting husband, John. Having worked in the beauty industry for over 15 years, I decided to take a grand leap of faith in the middle of 2022 and left my corporate job of 13 years. After years of battling with the desire to be a more present and hands-on stay-at-home mom, God presented a sign to me that it was time to do just that. It was undoubtedly the most nerve-racking, but liberating thing I have ever done...and I couldn't be happier with my decision. It has allowed me to find "me" again...and to be more present in the lives of those I value most- my children. I think it's a very common thing for mothers to feel like we have lost ourselves to the chaos of the day to day. I needed to find my passion again (outside of my beautiful children and role of wife and mommy)- Because I have loved fashion for as long as I can remember (you can ask my Mom...I can remember almost every detail of what I was wearing at various events in my life over the last 35 years...), not to mention my profound love of Barbie- THE fashion icon of all time- (I used to carry around a giant suitcase full of Barbies and clothes anytime I went to my Mamaw's while my parents worked), I decided to go for my dream: to open my very own boutique! Not only is this endeavor a dream come true, it is something I cherish even more than I could have ever imagined, as I now have a little princess side-kick to enjoy it with! I chose the name Gilded Swan because I love the opulence of Gilded Age fashion, and the swan is an image that kept presenting itself to me time and time again...they stand for grace, beauty, love, trust and loyalty. I hope that you are able to find fabulous pieces that make you feel special and beautiful when shopping with us.
